Welding cable is used to transmit electrical power from the source to the electrode holders and clamps used in welding. It is made up of multiple strands of copper wire and insulated with any of a variety of plastic or rubber tubing materials. Welding cable can supply AC or DC power, as dictated by the welding equipment used. Welding cable can also be used as battery cable in automotive applications where extra flexibility is required.
