Sensor and Assemblies Gauge Relative Temperature and Humidity

Temperature and humidity sensors are a necessary element to many manufacturing processes, enabling equipment to run within their optimal environments for cost efficiency and safety. A variety of sensors and their coordinating assemblies can be found in a wide spectrum of industrial and commercial applications including:
  • Process Control
  • Building Automation
  • Machinery Protection
  • Motor Protection
  • Defense Systems
  • Aerospace Machinery
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Commercial Equipment

Temperature Sensors & Assembly Manufacturers

  • Durex Industries manufactures temperature sensors in standard and custom configurations that incorporate time, temperature, motion, speed, pressure, and humidity for OEM applications.
  • Minco is a manufacturing company providing temperature sensors and assemblies for a broad range of industrial and commercial applications. This global company has an extensive infrastructure that provides superior engineering, assurance of quality, and comprehensive service.
  • Therm-x manufactures and supplies a broad range of temperature sensors, including RTD sensor probes, thermistors, and thermocouples. The company specializes in delivering temperature solutions to industries ranging from Food & Beverage to Aerospace.

Temperature Sensors Types

  • Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD sensors) – devices made of wound pure metal wire and thin film that measure temperature using the principle of the positive temperature coefficient of electrical resistance of metals. Increased heat leads to a higher value of electrical resistance. Most RTDs are packaged in probes.
  • Thermocouple Temperature sensors – a commonly used temperature sensor made from two wires of different metals that have been welded together to form a junction. The thermocouple is a straightforward and rugged sensor that can accurately measure temperatures over a wide range. Using the Seebeck (or thermoelectric) effect, the thermocouple converts temperature differences directly to electric voltage.
  • Thermistor Temperature sensors – resistor sensors that are made from ceramic, polymer, or metal oxide materials surrounded by glass or epoxy. Thermistor sensors provide a high level of precision temperature sensitivity over a relatively limited temperature range (-90 °C to 130 °C) and are typically considered to be a low cost option for temperature sensing.
Packaging for temperature and humidity sensors and their corresponding assemblies is available in thousands of variations, from probes to HVAC/R sensors that can be utilized in any number of specific applications. Protective sheaths, housings, cabling, laminates, and bendable casings can be combined with specialized fittings, leads, connectors, and feedthroughs to create a sensor system that will work in simple to complex assemblies.
