Single Phase Transformers

A single phase transformer is one of several types of static electrical devices (transformers) that transfer energy via inductive coupling between its winding circuits. Basically, single phase transformers consist of two coils of electrical wire—the primary winding and the secondary winding—wrapped together around a closed core circuit made of magnetic iron.
