Time to Read: 1m 11s

Dies are the “cookie cutters” used in metal stamping to produce high quantities of the same identical part. While some metal stamping providers have their own, in-house die makers (often referred to as “tool and die shops”), most rely on outside sources to provide their dies, as it is a very different and highly specialized process. In order to produce parts that match the requirements of the design, close tolerances must be maintained in die manufacturing. Many metal stamping die manufacturers utilize CNC machining centers or other computer-automated equipment to ensure that their dies meet the required levels of precision. Dies must also be sturdy enough to withstand the high
