Electropolishing of stainless steel and other metals is "reverse plating" of sorts. Electropolishing occurs when parts are electrically charged and placed into an electrolyte chemical blended bath. This process will remove the imperfections for the surface of the metal and leave the part with a smooth and shiny surface. This surface can be compared to that of a high polish chrome plated part.
