Time to Read: 1m 12s
Cleanroom apparel and garments are specially designed reusable or disposable items that provide increased levels of protection against infiltration by unwanted particulate matter and other contaminants into cleanrooms or other controlled environments. Cleanroom apparel and garments include everything from bouffants (a.k.a. hair covers) to boot covers, providing head to toe coverage for cleanroom workers and greatly increased protection against contamination. In addition to preventing or eliminating contamination in the cleanroom environment, many types of cleanroom apparel and garments also help protect cleanroom workers from potential hazards such as chemical spills and electrostatic shocks. Common cleanroom apparel and garments include, but are not limited to:
- Lab coats (disposable or launderable)
- Coveralls (disposable or launderable)
- Face masks
- Beard covers
- Bouffants (hair covers)
- Boot and shoe covers
- Aprons
- Hoods
- Sleeves
