New Advance Adgility™ XP backpack vacuums ergonomically designed for productivity

15 July 2008 PLYMOUTH, MN – The light-weight Adgility™ XP backpack vacuums from Advance offer new levels of comfort, quiet, productivity and affordability for multi-surface cleaning in close quarters. The Adgility XP features an ergonomically designed, cushioned harness that distributes the weight more evenly and higher on the back than traditional backpack vacuums. The design allows the unit to move more fluidly with the operator, increasing comfort and cleaning productivity while reducing fatigue.

"Backpack vacuums have long been favored for cleaning offices, classrooms and other facilities with hard and soft flooring and tight spaces in cubicles or between desks," says Sara Thurston, brand manager, Advance. "Now, independent testing by Sweden’s Två Ergonomer testing bureau confirms that the Adgility XP’s harness design results in significantly less operator fatigue and 10 percent greater productivity than other backpacks it tested. Because the Adgility XP centers the weight higher on the back, the unit moves easily with the body as the operator bends or twists; this makes the Adgility XP feel lighter and more nimble due to its superb balance," she says.

Both the Adgility 6XP and the Adgility 10XP feature a 1300 watt motor that moves 144 cubic feet of air per minute, yet produces a sound level of only 62 dB A. This low sound level reduces operator fatigue and makes the Adgility XP quiet enough to use any time of day without fear of disturbing building occupants, according to Sara Thurston.

For green cleaning solutions at a value price, the Adgility XP comes standard with four levels of filtering plus an optional HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of dust particles down to 0.3 microns. That performance has earned the Adgility XP the CRI (Carpet and Rug Institute) Seal of Approval for cleaning effectiveness. For cleaner dust disposal, the unique SaniSeal™ self-sealing dust bag has an adhesive rim that folds to keep dust inside the bag.

Also contributing to operator comfort is the design of the air discharge. Unlike other backpack vacuums, the filtered air discharge for the Adgility XP is directed back and away from the operator, eliminating a constant blast of warm air on the lower extremities which can contribute to operator fatigue and discomfort. This design also allows the Adgility XP to continue operating even if the machine is temporarily set down on a floor or another surface. Standard tools include a two-piece aluminum wand, Quick-Glide floor tool, upholstery tool, dusting brush and crevice tool.
