Nilfisk-Advance Inc acquires Cyclone

PLYMOUTH, MN, May 14, 2008 – Nilfisk-Advance, a leading manufacturer of professional floor cleaning equipment, announced today that it has acquired all the assets of Cyclone Environmental Technologies LLC and its affiliate company’s patents. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Cyclone is an industrial cleaning technology and manufacturing company specializing in technologies for cleaning outdoor surfaces with improved productivity and minimal environmental impact. The acquisition will form a new company within Nilfisk-Advance called "Nilfisk-Advance Technologies, Inc." The acquisition is effective May 13, 2008.

"Bringing Cyclone into the Nilfisk-Advance family is an exciting development for both companies, their employees and their customers," said Joergen Jensen, President and CEO of Nilfisk-Advance. "Cyclone is an innovator in bringing new cleaning technologies to market that leverage high pressure washing, waste water recovery and water recycling. We will continue Cyclone’s leadership in this area by further developing and expanding the market reach of these innovative technologies."

Cyclone’s cleaning technologies and products are used today by a wide range of customers such as airports, amusement parks, convention centers and other facilities with large outdoor surfaces. Cyclone’s water recovery and recycling technologies are progressive environmental features because they allow the end-user to save and reuse tremendous amounts of water. In addition, Cyclone’s technologies significantly limit the amount of pollutants and debris in water runoff, allowing for disposal that is better for the environment.

Following the acquisition, Cyclone will continue to operate at its Tempe, Arizona facility. Cyclone founder Richard Rohrbacher and President Ellen Rohrbacher will continue to be involved in the company.

"As the founder of Cyclone, I am thrilled that Cyclone is joining Nilfisk-Advance," said Richard Rohrbacher. "With this acquisition, Cyclone will have access to Nilfisk- Advance’s capital, procurement, engineering and R&D resources, which will allow us to move this technology forward more quickly. Nilfisk-Advance also offers an extensive distribution network in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, and this will strengthen Cyclone’s ability to grow its customer base."
