Henkel Coatings

Unlike other coatings listed here, Henkel coatings are not defined by the material or process used. Rather, these coatings are those manufactured by Henkel Adhesive Technologies. A worldwide leader in the industry, Henkel manufactures specialty coatings for friction reduction, noise reduction, improved release, and improved abrasion and wear resistance.

Henkel coatings deliver optimal performance from graphite, molybdenum disulfide, and other specialized materials. Henkel coatings are used in a variety of industries and applications, from automotive and aerospace to medical and electronics.

Henkel Coating Types

Henkel Adhesive Technologies manufactures a broad array of industrial coatings, each of which exhibits unique chemical and physical characteristics that can help improve the performance of the coated item. Some of the more commonly-used Henkel coatings include:

  • Bonderite S-FN 310A & Bonderite S-OT 310B: These PTFE-based coatings/lubricants provide a low coefficient of friction and excellent surface adhesion, corrosion resistance, and release properties. Their low cure temperatures enables their use in many applications where “traditional” PTFE coatings could not be used.
  • Bonderite S-FN 333: This resin-bonded PTFE lubricant provides excellent dry film lubrication and release properties, with a longer wear life than pure PTFE. It also offers superior chemical resistance, hardness, adhesion, and resiliency, as well as a low coefficient of friction.
  • Bonderite S-FN M 250: Composed of refined molybdenum disulfide and processed micro-graphite, this dry, long-wearing film improves corrosion, abrasion, flexing, and impact resistance. It is especially well-suited for coating parts/components that are inaccessible or impractical to service after installation.
  • Loctite EDAG GP 1904 E&C: This low-friction combination of PTFE and graphite—in a thermoset binder—provides excellent chemical and solvent resistance. With a wide range of cure temperatures, this coating can be applied to a variety of substrate materials.
  • Molydag 254: A mixture of molybdenum sulfite and other lubricants dispersed in an epoxy resin, this coating provides improved corrosion resistance and permanent lubrication. Ideal for use with parts/components that are inaccessible after assembly.

Henkel Coating Providers

Henkel provides the coating materials, but does not provide coating service themselves. Instead, Henkel coatings must be applied by licensed vendors, including the following:

  • The DECC Company is a leading provider of Henkel coatings. DECC has over 50 years’ experience in industrial coating and can provide the perfect coating solution for any application.
